What's new at the Hertie School
Edition 8 | Academic Year 21/22 | 24 June 2022

Dear Friends of the Hertie School,

I am proud to share some good news with you. On Monday, we bade farewell to about 250 of our students at the graduation ceremony at the Komische Oper in Berlin. We reflected on the extraordinary circumstances under which our graduating Master and PhD graduates attained their degrees. Despite the obstacles posed by the pandemic since the Class of 2022 matriculated, these graduates persevered in their studies, mastered their programmes, engaged with their community and made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

In this special edition of our newsletter, we celebrate their achievements. Among other things, you will find an interview with this year's student graduation speaker Eduardo Campbell Bethancourt and a link to the full recording of the ceremony. We also feature our new alumni and their real-world, policy-oriented master's theses in our annual CV book, available on our website.

Our sincerest congratulations to this extraordinary group of graduates! We send them forth with great confidence in their resilience and courage. The Hertie community stands ready to support them in their future pursuits!

Warmest regards for a relaxing summer,

Prof. Cornelia Woll
