What's new at the Hertie School
Edition 7 | Academic Year 21/22 | 10 June 2022

Dear Friends of the Hertie School,

One year has passed since our former President Henrik Enderlein, visionary professor, teacher and mentor, passed away from cancer. A bright mind and a passionate European, he is deeply missed. With the Henrik Enderlein Prize, we want to commemorate his life's work. The prize recognises outstanding researchers under forty who make exceptional and practical contributions to the future of Europe. We will confer the award together with the German and French Foreign Ministries on 15 June in Paris, France.

Soon afterward, a true highlight of the academic year awaits us and the Hertie community: on 20 June, we will bid farewell to the MIA, MPP and PhD Class of 2022 during our graduation ceremony in person at the Komische Oper and online. After two years of online and hybrid classes, we are thrilled to host our graduates and their families at this exceptional venue in the heart of Berlin. I already look forward to the special issue of this newsletter with photo and video highlights soon to come.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy reading about our recent activities. In this edition, learn about Jeff Kwasi Klein, this year’s Alumni Achievement Award winner, our faculty's latest research and our students' success in the world's leading moot court competition.

With all best wishes,

Prof. Cornelia Woll
