What's new at the Hertie School
Edition 6 | Academic Year 21/22 | 12 May 2022

Dear Friends of the Hertie School,

Spring has brought a great sense of excitement to our campus in recent weeks. At our Brazil Summit Europe in April, we had the pleasure of welcoming former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and Supreme Court Justice Luís Roberto Barroso. Compliments to our students, who were mainly responsible for organising the event.

In the face of the devastating war in Ukraine, we brought together experts to discuss recent events from a research perspective. Our series on the war focussed on two challenging issues: the role of digital communication and the energy crisis.

Last but not least – save the date! From 17 to 19 June, our annual Alumni Reunion will take place — for the first time together with the Alumni Fellows of the Hertie Foundation. Around 500 alumni from 50 countries will come together in Berlin to discuss current socio-political issues. We are looking forward to it!

With all best wishes,

Prof. Cornelia Woll
