What's new at the Hertie School
Edition 7 | Academic Year 22/23 | 14 June 2023

Dear Friends of the Hertie School,

June is always a time of change for us. After a studious year buzzing with activities, we will bid farewell to 300 of our master’s students at our largest graduation ever at Admiralspalast in Berlin next week.

At the same time, we look forward to new beginnings. We are grateful for the generous endowment we received from the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. Their investment will strengthen data science at the Hertie School by funding a new professorship at the Data Science Lab as well as five regular scholarships for the Master of Data Science for Public Policy. We are also delighted to welcome environmental economist Johanna Arlinghaus to our faculty as Assistant Professor. Arlinghaus will contribute to the work of the Centre for Sustainability later next year.

Read on for more news on our latest research and contributions to current public policy challenges.

With best wishes,

Prof. Cornelia Woll
