The Centre joined the DSA40 Germany Network whose mission is to assist the implementation of Article 40 in the DSA within Germany and Europe. The Centre is collaborating with the Hertie School Data Science Lab on this initiative. Gerhard Hammerschmid was invited as an expert for a public hearing in the Bundestag on the amendment of the central digitalisation law (OZGÄndG). While he considered the law an improvement, he recommended strengthening the monitoring and evaluation mechanism foreseen in the law, and also pointed to the need of embedding these digitalisation efforts into a broader modernisation agenda for the German government system. Applications are open for the Digital Governance Scholarship, a 100% tuition waiver for the School's interdisciplinary Master of Public Policy (MPP) Programme. All nationalities can apply to be considered for one of the three scholarships to be awarded.
